The beach
Kenya’s favourite beach
Diani stretches south of Mombasa along the Indian Ocean, a long strip of fine white sand backed by palms and coastal forest. A coral reef shelters the shore, keeping the lagoon calm and clear for swimming, snorkelling and paddle-boarding.
Beyond the beach there is plenty to do: dhow trips to the Kisite-Mpunguti Marine Park to swim with dolphins, diving on the reefs, kitesurfing when the winds blow and walks in forests home to rare colobus monkeys.
Diani is the classic way to end a safari. Fly in after the Maasai Mara, or drive from Tsavo East and Tsavo West in a few hours.
