Day by day

Detailed itinerary

Your safari driver-guide will pick you up early in the morning from your Nairobi hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA). Begin your journey north, passing through the rich agricultural highlands of central Kenya and crossing the equator into the dramatic semi-arid landscapes of Samburu. Arrive at your camp/lodge in time for check-in and lunch. In the late afternoon, embark on an introductory game drive to search for Samburu’s unique wildlife before returning to the lodge for dinner.

Meals Included: Lunch & Dinner

Spend the day exploring the rugged beauty of Samburu along the Ewaso Nyiro River. This area is home to the famous “Samburu Special Five”: the reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, Beisa oryx, Somali ostrich, and gerenuk.

FLEXIBILITY: Guests can choose between morning and afternoon game drives or opt to relax by the lodge pool/lounge during the midday heat.

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Enjoy a second full day in Samburu to track big cats, elephants, and wild dogs across the reserve’s unique landscape.

FLEXIBILITY: Take a full-day game drive with a packed picnic lunch, or spend a quiet morning/afternoon resting at your accommodation to soak in the views of the northern frontier.

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

After breakfast, depart Samburu and drive south toward the Laikipia plateau to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge/camp. In the afternoon, set out for a game drive to visit the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary and observe the resident northern white rhinos under 24-hour protection.

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Spend a full day exploring Ol Pejeta’s diverse habitats, set against the breathtaking backdrop of Mount Kenya. The conservancy boasts an extraordinary density of wildlife, including the Big Five.

FLEXIBILITY: Enjoy a morning game drive and spend the afternoon at leisure around camp, reading, or enjoying guided sanctuary activities.

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Following breakfast, check out and drive down the scenic Great Rift Valley toward Lake Naivasha. Arrive at your lakefront lodge in time for lunch. The afternoon is kept relaxed – guests can take an optional boat ride to view hippos and birdlife, enjoy a guided walking safari at Crescent Island among grazing game, or simply unwind in the gardens of the lodge.

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

After breakfast, head to nearby Hell’s Gate National Park, one of Kenya’s most unique parks. Choose to explore the dramatic scenery on foot, by rented bicycle, or inside your safari vehicle. After your morning activity, proceed toward Lake Nakuru with lunch en route, arriving at your Lake Nakuru lodge/camp in the late afternoon for dinner and rest.

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Depart Lake Nakuru after breakfast and drive south through the scenic Great Rift Valley floor, past Narok Town, into the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve. Arrive in time for lunch at your camp/lodge. In the late afternoon, set off on your first game drive across the iconic savannah plains.
