Gorilla Trekking Safari

This is the highlight of your Uganda gorilla trekking safari. After an early breakfast, you’ll be driven to the park headquarters for a mandatory briefing on gorilla etiquette by the Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. Here, trekkers are grouped in parties of eight and allocated a gorilla family to visit.

If you have special mobility needs, inform the rangers during the briefing to be placed in a group assigned a closer family. You’ll be provided with a trekking stick and led into the dense rainforest, guided by trackers who monitor the gorillas’ movements daily.

The trek can range from 1 to 6 hours depending on where the gorillas nested the previous night. Once you find them, you’ll have one magical hour observing their social interactions, playful behavior, and gentle gaze. It's an emotional and intimate moment that defines every private Uganda gorilla trekking safari.

Return to the lodge for lunch and leisure. Enjoy the serene forest views, unwind on your private balcony, or take a short community walk if you wish.

After an unforgettable Gorilla Trekking experience, enjoy breakfast at your lodge before departing for Entebbe. On your way back, stop at the Igongo Cultural Centre for a cultural experience, adding depth to your Gorilla Trekking safari. Learn about the local traditions and crafts of Uganda, and shop for unique souvenirs. Continue your journey back to Entebbe, where you'll arrive by the late afternoon. From there, head to Entebbe International Airport for your flight, reflecting on the incredible memories of your Gorilla Trekking adventure in Bwindi.
