Start your day through the rain forest, after an hour leave the forest and approach the moorlands all the way to Horombo escarpments. You will start feeling the effects of the attitude as you have a view of the Kibo summit and Mawenzi’s small peak view. Dinner and overnight at Horombo Huts.

Marangu Route Climbing provides a day for acclimatization with a circuit walk from Horombo Huts to Mawenzi and Kibo peaks back to Horombo Huts for dinner and overnight. The acclimatization is to prefer the tourists/ Climbers before they attempt the summit for great amazing views from all directions.

Share breakfast with your guide, porters, and the cook, and commence your Marangu Route Climbing to cover the 10kms from your day huts to Kibo Huts. Ascend and descend the peak of Mawenzi and Kibo Summit, the vegetations here begin with heathlands to a moonscape. Arrive at Kibo Huts for Dinner and overnight as you prepare to reach the summit the following day.

Early in the morning between 0200am to 0300am depending on your climbing speed start so that you can make it to the Uhuru peak before sunrise. The path is steep and covered by snow, passes through Gilman’s Point located at the crater rim 5861metres, and continues to Uhuru peak 5895mtres/19340 ft which is the highest peak in the whole of Africa. Take great photos and start to descend knowing that you have achieved your dream. Make a stopover at Kibo Huts for lunch and descend down to Horombo Huts for Dinner and overnight.

Breakfast at the Huts, get ready for the Final Marangu Route Climbing 18kms walk through the moorlands. Reach Marangu gate for your certificate of achievements, say bye-bye to the porters, and cook then be transferred either to Moshi or Arusha depending on your next day activity, either airport or safari.
